These lovely clients had bought a gorgeous 1930 property in the Netherlands which they renovated beautifully. They asked for my help as they were struggling with especially the lay-out of the living room and also wanted some lighting and styling ideas. Next to some existing items they wished to incorporate, they wanted my advice on buying a new sofa, chair, appropriate lighting and some new accessories.

With two doors and a fireplace on opposite walls and a bay window, it can be tricky to think of a practical and efficient layout. I came up with a solution that gives them the chance to enjoy their fireplace and watch TV with the whole family at the same time. I suggested to choose for an open TV bench or shelf to keep the width of the room and on the other side of the fireplace, I created an extra reading/relax nook. By opting for a swivel chair in the bay window this becomes a multi-functional spot where you can watch TV but, by turning the chair,  also becomes the perfect place to sit down with your cup of coffee in the morning sun. The presentation of the Design via Skype worked really well and gave the clients the chance to ask me any questions they had. Since this was a Distance Advisory Design the clients were going to source the advised items themselves. That is a great way to get a new Interior without spending too much money.

        What the clients said...

We have asked Sanne for her advise on the lay-out and decoration for the living / dining room of our new house as we were struggling to find the best design. As this was a 'Distant Design'  we have sent Sanne many photos, a floorplan with measurements and a few videos so she got a good feeling of the space. Sanne managed to come up with a great design and some fabulous ideas we could not have thought of ourselves. If you are struggling with your home we would definitely recommend her!
